Seems like every site has got one of these Legal and Privacy notice pages
these days, and they've even become near-mandatory for some web site
registration services. Web privacy (and piracy) have always been
important concerns, so it's good that such policy statements have
become more prominent.
So here's mine:
In short: I don't like spam email. You probably don't either. So I don't send spam or sell personal information.
Details:
I don't collect personal information from you on this site. If you don't enter it into a web form or send it to me as an email, then I don't know it. [I might, however, for statistical purposes, record what time/day a web form was sent, but not your IP address or other such info.]
This site does not use "cookies". This site also does not contain any paid advertisements (i.e. banner ads), so no cookies there either.
The main Land List page (http://www.rwhirled.com/landlist.htm) contains a simple web counter of my own (i.e. not a third-party counter). In addition, my hosting service provides some basic statistical/logging information regarding page hits (http requests), and this may include an IP address. I'm sure that's no different from most other sites you visit, however, since most web servers do log that information (especially as it is sometimes necessary for server troubleshooting and maintenance issues). I don't actually use or care about that info, however.
If you send me an email or otherwise inform me of your email address, I will (obivously!) use that address to respond to your particular question or comment. However, I do not maintain any sort of email distribution list, nor do I redistribute or sell lists of email addresses. ...Not that anyone would even want to pay me for such a list anyway.
Just as it says on the bottom of each Land List page:
"Polaroid", "Land Camera" and other camera names are trademarks of Polaroid Corporation. No endorsement or approval by Polaroid Corporation is implied, nor is Polaroid responsible for the accuracy of the content of this web site.
and:
Contents Copyright © 1992-2003 by Martin (Marty) Kuhn /

All Rights Reserved Worldwide
And as a further disclamer:
Remember, any damage caused to your camera or self or whatever from following tips on this web site are your own responsibility. Safety first!
In addition:
Remember: Unless otherwise noted, all images on The Land List site are also © by me (Marty Kuhn). Do not redistribute images without specific permission. Send me an email if you'd like to use an image for a particular purpose. In many cases, I am more than happy to provide permission free of charge (with due credit), and can usually provide higher-resolution and/or non-stamped versions of images if needed (i.e. for print publication).
HOWEVER, realize that there are some uses I would (almost) never allow.
As a specific example, you may not use images from this site to
illustrate
items you may be offering on a merchandise auction site (i.e. eBay).
Please do not do this. Not only is this 'swiping' of content, but the
particular
camera in my illustration may not provide an accurate portrayal of the
condition and/or details of the camera you are selling. On a related
note, while I certainly don't mind eBay sellers using this site as a
reference before they put an item up for bid, I would ask eBay sellers
that, both for the sake of courtesy and copyrights, to not simply
cut-and-paste all of the relevant text on this site into their auction
descriptions. [You may provide a link to this site, however, as long as
you do not imply that I (or The Land List site) is endorsing your auction.
Thanks!]
By the way, I am currently not an active seller on eBay. If you see
images and/or text from this site used in an eBay item description, then
you may safely assume that (a) it is not my auction, and (b) said images
and/or text was not used by permission. In any case, I do not endorse
any specific eBay sellers and/or their auctions.
Of course, changes to this page (and the policies described) may be made
in the future without notice. Changes will likely be noted on the
main Land List page in the "What's New"
section.
Okay, I think that pretty much covers it for now. Any questions can
be directed to me at the email address at the bottom of this page.
Thanks!
