- Fixed focus.
- Shutter: electronic; range around 1/4 - 1/200 sec.
- Exposure system: programmed automatic

down to protect lens and controls.
650("Sun 650")

660("Sun 660")

Similar to 640 ("Sun 640"), except:
- Lens: 116mm (?) f/9 (?) 3-element(?) plastic(?)
- Automatic focus; uses Polaroid Sonar AF system. Minimum focus 3ft.
COLLECTOR'S NOTE 1: Evidently, a special gold-colored variant of
this camera was issued to commemerate the 50th anniversary of Polaroid
Corporation. This special-edition camera was apparently accompanied
with a matching "Polaroid 50" carrying case.
COLLECTOR'S NOTE 2: A version of this camera exists with a
completely transparent plastic housing. These (assumed to be non-functional)
cameras were apparently issued to some dealers for display and
demonstration purposes.

Amigo 610:
Produced: 19??-19?? / Original Retail: $??.??
Basically an Amigo 620, below, except that
it lacks the close-up lens.
NOTE: This might be an International Markets variant model. I've only seen
the Amigo 620 in the USA.
Amigo 620:
Produced: 1982-19?? / Original Retail: $56.95
Similar to 640 ("Sun 640"), except:
- Lacks electronic flash; has socket for "Flash 600"-style flashbars
instead.
- No "fill-in" flash for daylight pictures; flash automatically fires in
low light if flashbar is installed(?)
- Tan plastic body; flashbar socket is elevated on a plastic "flap" which
flips down to protect lens and controls.
- Has built in "close up" lens

Similar to OneStep 600 Flash Close-Up, except:

metallic flower decals.

Business Edition 600:
Produced: 199?-2000 / Original Retail: $??.??
Similar to 650 ("Sun 650"), except:
- Designed for extra durability and ruggedness
NOTE: Brand-mate to the Job Pro (below); essentially the same camera
aimed at a different market.
Business Edition 600 2:
Produced: 2000-Present / Original Retail: $??.??
Similar to Business Edition 600, except:
NOTE: Likewise, this is a brand-mate to the Job Pro 2(below).
Cool Cam:
Produced: 1988-19?? / Original Retail: $69.00
Similar to 640 ("Sun 640"), except:
- Body available in flashy fluorecent colors.
NOTE: Some (later production, presumably) models have a built-in
close-up lens, similar to that of the
OneStep Flash Close-Up or 650
cameras. [The camera in the image link below has the close-up lens
feature, but is in a more muted color than most CoolCams I've seen--
i.e. this camera is more commonly found in "hot pink" rather
than the basic red illustrated.]
CoolCam (red) [JPEG, 50k]
Impulse:
Produced: 19??-19?? / Original Retail: $89.00
Similar to 640 ("Sun 640"), except:
- Much different body style; sort of a streamlined Pronto! with pop-up
flash. Lens cover slides into place when flash is pushed back down
(which also turns off the camera.) Shutter release is located on the top
toward the rear of the camera.
- Some/most have a built-in "close-up" lens,
but some do not.
- Body has vinyl covering.
- Most of these are sort of blue-grey/charcoal in color, but
may also be found in various other colors-- including maroon/red,
yellow, blue, and green.
Impulse AF:
Produced: 19??-19?? / Original Retail: $??.??
Similar to Impulse, except:
- Lens: 116mm (?) f/9 (?) 3-element(?) plastic(?)
- Automatic focus; uses Polaroid Sonar AF system. Minimum focus 3ft
(manual focus not possible).
- Has electronic self-timer
- Like the regular Impulse, most of these are sort of
blue-grey/charcoal in color, but

Impulse AF [JPEG, 28k]
Impulse QPS:
Produced: 19??-19?? / Original Retail: $??.??
Similar to Impulse, except:
- Lacks built-in close-up lens
NOTE: This may actually be a "Special Markets" camera.
Impulse QPS [JPEG, 35k]
Job Pro:
Produced: 19??-2000 / Original Retail: $??.??
Similar to 650, except:
- Body face and trim is bright safety-yellow in color; remainder of
body is plain black.
- Designed for high durability
- Has quick instruction sheet fastened to back of camera
Job Pro [JPEG, 31k]
Job Pro 2:
Produced: 2000-Present / Original Retail: $??.??
Similar to Job Pro, except:
OneStep 600:
Produced: 1983-19?? / Original Retail: $24.95
Similar to Amigo 620, except:
- Black (instead of tan) body.
- No "close-up" lens.
OneStep 600 Express:
Produced: 1997 (?) - 2002 / Original Retail: $??.??
Similar to OneStep 600 Flash Close-Up (below):, except:
- Body is hunter-green in color and has somewhat upgraded trim
- Sold as a kit with a matching carrying case
OneStep 600 Express [JPEG, 31k]
OneStep 600 Flash:
Produced: 199?-199? / Original Retail: $??.??
Similar to 640 ("Sun 640"), and
replaced the OneStep 600.
NOTES:
Later models also have built-in "close-up" lens.
OneStep 600 Flash Close-Up:
Produced: 199?-Present / Original Retail: $29.95
Similar to OneStep 600 Flash, except:
- Has built-in "close-up" lens.
- Re-styled body with rounded corners and different style front panel.
NOTE: Starting in late 1998 or so, this camera has been relabeled
simply as the "OneStep," thus seemingly bringing the naming
patterns of this line of fixed-focus integral print cameras full-circle...
OneStep 600 Flash Close-Up [JPEG, 50k]
Newer version, now simply called the "OneStep". [JPEG, 34k]
600 LMS:
Produced: 1983-19?? / Original Retail: $39.95
Similar to 640 ("Sun 640")
OneStep 600 LMS [JPEG, 29k]
OneStep AF:
Produced: 1997 (?) -Present / Original Retail: $49.95 (?)
Similar to OneStep 600 Flash Close-Up, except:
- Lens appears to have a wider maximum aperture-- may be similar
to lens arrangement on 660.
- Has simple 2-zone (?) autofocus system. AF is non-Sonar and
appears to be of the simple IR "wink" variety rather
than a true IR rangefinding system.
OneStep Talking Camera:
Produced: 199?-1997 (?) / Original Retail: $??.??
Similar to OneStep 600 Flash Close-Up, except:
- Has a built-in digital sound record/playback system; the intent
is to play a recording of a funny saying to make your (presumably
human) subjects laugh and smile just before taking their picture.
The camera can be set to play back either a user-recorded message,
or one of the three built-in messages in its ROM.
OneStep Talking Camera [JPEG, 28k]
Pronto 600:
Produced: 19??-19?? / International Markets
Origin uncertain, but it appears to be an International Markets
name variant of the OneStep 600.
Quick 610
Produced: 19??-19?? / International Markets (?)
Similar to Amigo 620, except:
NOTE: This is probably an "International Markets" model.
SLR 680:
Produced: 1982-19?? / Original Retail: $265.00
Similar to TimeZero SX-70 AF, except:
- Uses 600 film.
- Has built-in automatic electronic flash.
- Flash reflector automatically tilts depending on focus distance.
NOTE: The later production models of this camera (when it was only sold
as the SLR 680 SE (Special Edition)) have slightly different trim than
the earlier ones.
SLR 680 (two versions shown)[JPEG, 44k]
690: (SLR 690)
Produced: 1996- Present / Original Retail: $399.00
Similar to SLR 680, except:
- Minor styling differences. Film-slot 'shade' is plastic rather than metal.
- Analog metering/timing circuitry has been replaced by a 4-bit microcontroller.
NOTES: This model was originally intended as a limited-production item,
but evidently turned out to be more popular than anticipated-- as of 1998,
it appeared that it was considered part of the regular Polaroid camera
line (and had a much reduced retail price, at least in the USA).
Also, the actual model designation of this camera may be simply "690"
rather than "SLR 690".
While this camera is still in production as of 2002, it is currently only
available in Japan. It was discontinued from the USA and other markets
in the year 2000 or so.
COLLECTOR'S NOTE: There was also an extrememly limited edition version
of this camera issued in 1998 to commemorate the 50th anniversary
of Polaroid instant photographic products. This limited edition camera
came with a wood display case (?) and was apparently only distributed
in Europe. (More details and/or a photograph of this camera variant
would be appreciated...)

Two SLR 680's shown with a 690 for comparison [JPEG, 14k]
SpiceCam:
Produced: 1998 (?) -1998 / Original Retail: $??.??
Similar to OneStep Express, except:
- Hot pink in color and supplied with Spice Girls®-related decals.
- Unlike the OneStep Express, the package as sold does not include a carrying case.
SpiceCam (photo credit: Douglas St. Denny of camprice.com)[JPEG, 23k]
Spirit:
Produced: 19??-19?? / Original Retail: $??.??
There are two versions of this camera:
Earlier models are similar to the Amigo 620,
in that they have a tan body and a built-in close-up lens.
Later models are based on the OneStep 600,
in that they have a black body and no close-up lens.
Obviously, Polaroid simply let this line of Special Markets cameras
follow along with whatever the low-end 600-series camera was at the time.
(i.e. the Amigo 620 was replaced by the
OneStep 600)
Spirit (black, OneStep 600 equivalent)[JPEG, 36k]
Spirit (tan, Amigo 620 equivalent) [JPEG, 51k]
Spirit 600:
Produced: 19??-19?? / Original Retail: $??.??
Similar to 600 LMS
(or Sun 640), and
appears to have superceded the regular Spirit, above.
Spirit 600 [JPEG, 47k]
Spirit 600 CL:
Produced: 19??-19?? / Original Retail: $??.??
Similar to 650 ("Sun 650"), and
appears to have superceded the Spirit 600, above.
Supercolor 635
Produced: 19??-19?? / International Markets
Similar to 640 ("Sun 640"), except:
- Faceplate is silver in color
Supercolor 635 CL
Produced: 19??-19?? / International Markets
Similar to 650 ("Sun 650").
Supercolor 635 CL [JPEG, 50k]
Supercolor 645 CL
Produced: 19??-19?? / International Markets
Similar to 650 ("Sun 650"), except:
- The faceplate on the one example I've seen is hot-pink in color and
has black-and-red trim striping on the front.
Supercolor 670 AF
Produced: 19??-19?? / International Markets
The only reference I've seen to this camera suggests that it is similar
to the 660 ("Sun 660").
Taz® Instant Camera:
Produced: 1999-Present / Original Retail: $??.??
Similar to OneStep 600 Flash Close-Up, except:
- Front of camera body is molded in the shape of Tazmanian Devil®'s
head (the Warner Bros. cartoon character); this is arranged so that
the pictures appear to eject out of Taz's mouth. The remainder of
the camera body is a brown color designed to match the Taz® head.
- Lacks close-up lens
The Construction Camera:
Produced: 19??-19?? / Original Retail: $??.??
Similar to Job Pro.
